Daytona 500 Logo ~ Bitmap to Vector Conversion

Daytona 500 Logo
This was a fun project done for Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, as a gift to the winner of the 2009 NASCAR Daytona 500. As you can see, the vector image that I traced from the bitmap image turned out pretty true to the original. (The vector version being the one on top).
This image was made by recreating each color of the logo as a separate layer, and then arranging those layers in the correct order. For example, the gray area behind the blue portion of the logo was one layer, with the blue portion being another layer on top of the gray layer. Then another gray layer on top of that to form the triangle around the date, followed by a white layer, and finally topped off with the blue date as the last layer.
Below is an image of Steve Page, of Infineon Raceway presenting the etched bottle to the race winner, Matt Kenseth.
